From old sketches to wearable art: the creative journey that eventually became Rodie Art.
From old sketches to wearable art: the creative journey that eventually became Rodie Art.

For most of my working life I have been a teacher, trainer and marketing consultant. I have spent years helping students understand digital marketing, eCommerce and marketing automation.

While all of that was happening, something else was quietly sitting in boxes and folders around the house.

Drawings.

Paintings.

Old notebooks.

Half-finished stories.

Over the past few months I started opening those boxes again. Some of the artwork was more than forty years old. Looking through it felt a little like meeting younger versions of myself. Some pieces made me smile. Some made me wonder what I had been thinking. A few surprised me because they still felt relevant.

What I realised was that the artwork wasn't separate from the rest of my life. The drawings, stories, teaching and writing were all connected.

Rodie Art is my attempt to bring those threads together.

This journal will include artwork, graphic narratives, illustrated memoirs, thoughts on creativity, and the occasional story behind a T-shirt design.

It is less about building a brand and more about continuing a conversation that started many years ago with a sketchbook and a pen.
